Privacy Policy for Learn

Last Updated: August 27, 2025

1. Introduction

Welcome to Learn ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our application. By using our service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We use separate services to manage different types of data to ensure functionality and security. Our application follows a "local-first" approach for your content.

  • Authentication Data (via Firebase): To create and manage your account, we use Firebase Authentication. When you register, we collect personal information such as your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, this information is provided by Google. This data is used solely for authentication and account management.
  • User-Generated Content (via Local Storage): All the data you create within the application—including notes, flashcards, study plans, goals, and resources—is stored directly in your browser's local storage. This means your data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers, ensuring maximum privacy and offline availability.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and maintain our services.
  • To create and manage your account for authentication purposes.
  • To save your user-generated content locally on your device.
  • To respond to your requests, comments, and questions.

4. Data Security

Your authentication data is managed by Firebase, which uses industry-standard security measures. Your user-generated content is stored in your browser's local storage, which is sandboxed and only accessible by our application on your device. We do not have access to this data.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your authentication data as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the "Profile & Settings" page. This action is irreversible. When you delete your account, your authentication information will be removed from Firebase, and all your associated user-generated content will be permanently deleted from your browser's local storage.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
